Last weekend, some of our RE/MAX Gold agents took a stand against Alzheimer’s Disease by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Walk To End Alzheimer’s”—the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

The agents, most of whom hale from the Midtown office, banded together as “Agents for Change”. Clad in purple, the official color for Alzheimer’s research, hundreds of people gathered at Raley Field in Sacramento to walk together in solidarity against this relentless disease.

RE/MAX Gold Midtown agent Michael Canton, lead the Agents for Change team in their walk, as Alzheimer’s disease has claimed the lives of some of his closest loved ones.

Along with the Agents for Change, Michael recruited some very special guests to join them in their walk: the 501st Legion—a nationwide organization of volunteers, dressed in high quality Star Wars costumes, who are dedicated not only to Star Wars, but to help raise funds for non-profits within their communities.

The Agents for Change team had 15 members who walked together in hopes to raise awareness and find a cure for this devastating disease. Through fundraising efforts, they have raised over $1,300 for Alzheimer’s Association and hope to continue raising funds until year’s end.

Michael plans to make this an annual event for the Agents of Change. “This will be a fight we fight every year from now on, in hopes that my mother is the last victim of this deadly disease,” he says.

We are thankful for our amazing agents who are actively involved in their communities! If you would like to make a contribution to Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you can do so until the end of the year.

RE/MAX Gold sells more homes each year than any other independently owned real estate brokerage in California, with 61 offices in 19 counties to serve you.
